Flandria Cycles was founded in 1976 by Belgium couple Danny and Vera Verschaeve. Hailing from cycle mad Belgium, they identified the opportunity and had the vision to establish Flandria Cycles to fulfil the Stellenbosch region’s cycling needs.

1985 saw the addition of a Locksmith and LPG (liquid petroleum gas) supply service. Flandria Cycles built an enviable reputation based on service excellence. In March 2008, Alwyn de Kock and Linus van Onselen teamed up to buy the business from Danny and Vera and in July 2013 Linus sold his interest in Flandria Cycles to his son, Leonardo.
